Soldiers Form Statue of Liberty .. NOT in Fort Dodge, Iowa

From Urban Legends: "During the WWI years, Arthur S. Mole and John D. Thomas made some incredible human pictures by using thousands of sailors or soldiers in uniform to create images."

18,000 soldiers gathered in Fort Dodge at CAMP Dodge in Des Moines, IA in July of 1918 to take this photograph. It's close to where we live, so our kids were especially excited about it.

Geeeez ... get it right, Snopes. ;-)
